Starting on September 10th, 2024, this comprehensive course, scheduled every Tuesday, will empower you with invaluable knowledge and skills to elevate your expertise in medical education administration.

The Advanced Program Administrator Training Program is specifically tailored for seasoned professionals seeking to expand their horizons in medical education administration. Over the course of seven weeks, participants will delve into various critical topics essential for successful program management and leadership within your organization.

Meet The Course Directors

Julie Beckerdite

Julie is the Director, Mass General Brigham Pathology Graduate Medical Education where she is helping lead the integration of the pathology residency programs at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) into an integrated training experience. She oversees the pathology GME offices at both BWH and MGH providing support and development to a great team of dedicated medical education administrators. Julie's experience in medical education administration began nearly 15 years ago as a program coordinator for thoracic surgery at BWH before being promoted to the education program manager in cardiology at BWH overseeing multiple fellowship programs and all other educational initiatives of this large division. In 2018, Julie took the next step in her medical education administration career serving as the Administrative Director for Graduate Medical Education at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) for over 4 years. In this institutional role, she was responsible for the administrative and operations management of the GME office which has 60 ACGME accredited and numerous non-ACGME accredited programs with nearly 800 trainees. Julie received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2004 and her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare management from D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 2014.  In addition to serving on the Board, Julie has also served as a member of NSAMA’s Membership and Conference committees. Julie has leadership experience and training including completing the AAMC GME Leadership Certificate Program, BIDMC Sloane Fellows program and the UMass Boston Beacon Leadership Program. In her spare time, Julie enjoys baking and staying active by swimming, running, and white-water rafting.

Kaytlyn Hope

Kaytlyn is an Education Program Manager at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) in the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, where she plays a pivotal role in various key initiatives. Currently, her responsibilities encompass fostering wellness for housestaff and administrators, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing the Curriculum for Professional and Academic Success (CAPS), overseeing the onboarding and orientation of incoming housestaff, and coordinating comprehensive administrator training. Prior to her current role, Kaytlyn spent three successful years as a fellowship administrator in Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital.

Kaytlyn's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Masters in Healthcare Administration Management. She has also earned TAGME Certification.

Kaytlyn serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Society of Academic Medical Administrators (NSAMA), where she has made significant contributions to the organization's growth and success. Her efforts have been instrumental in providing comprehensive training to administrators at all levels, expanding NSAMA's reach nationwide, and enhancing the overall membership experience. As part of her involvement, she is involved in the planning of the annual conference and co-directs both the training programs designed for new and experienced administrators.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kaytlyn is a sought-after national speaker on various topics, including creating developmental networks, emphasizing the importance of empathy for administrators, implementing efficient systems, and shattering personal glass ceilings.

In her personal time, Kaytlyn is the proud owner and COO of Equity Intelligence, LLC, a dedicated organization committed to helping other institutions achieve their diversity, equity, and inclusion goals in an authentic and sustainable manner. She balances her dynamic career with a love for cooking classes, biking around Boston with her Husband Christopher, volunteering at her church, expressing her artistic side through painting, and recently discovering a passion for pickle ball!
